The Service of Remembrance for Mr. Frederick "Fred" Peterson, age 67, of Inverness, Florida, will be held 2:30 PM, Monday, August 24, 2009 at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness. Friends may call 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. Those who wish may send memorial donations to Hospice of Citrus County, 3350 W. He was born December 9, 1941 in Providence, RI, son of Clyde Peterson and Bella (Briggs) Peterson. He died August 21, 2009 in Inverness, FL.

Mr. Peterson was a Navy veteran. He worked as a Deck Hand on a dredge boat. He moved to Inverness, Florida from Interlachen, Fl. in 1995.

Mr. Peterson enjoyed motorcycles, woodworking, working in wrought iron and was a member of an airboat club.

Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by four brothers, Bobby Peterson, Sonny Peterson, Jack Peterson, and Richard Peterson, sister, Celia "Sis" Morrison. Survivors include wife, Liane "Lee" Peterson of Inverness, son, James Peterson of Tampa, 3 daughters, Lila Dawson (Ed) of Tampa, Tammy Moffet (Gary) of Haslet, TX, and Julie Peterson, 3 step daughters, Jane Salmons (Roger) of Dunnellon, Joan Harlow (Kenny), and Joyce Brusca (James), and 13 grandchildren . Arrangements are under the direction of the Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory.
