The Service of Remembrance for Sandra Kay Beamesderfer, loved as "Granny", age 66, of Hernando, Florida, who died on Monday, August 31, 2009, at Citrus Memorial Hospital from an extended illness, will be held 3:30 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2009, at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes and Crematory. Friends may call on the family on Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Inverness Chapel. She was born on December 24, 1942, in Hernando, Florida, daughter of George and Naomi (Ogle) Sammons.

She retired from Kay-Dawson's L.P. Gas Service after many years of serving as secretary. As a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, George D. Sammons III. Survivors include her mother, Naomi (Ogle) Sammons of Dunnellon, FL; sister, Charlotte Jones of Dunnellon, FL; brother, Kenneth Sammons and his wife, Karen of Melbourne, FL; husband, Dawson E. Beamesderfer, Sr.; daughter, Selinda "Cindy" McNab and husband, Mitch of Dothan, AL; daughter, Terry Stanley and husband Pat of Boone, NC; daughter, Sandra Lynn Briggs and husband, Richard of Inverness; son, Dawson E. "Mike" Beamesderfer, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Ferrum, VA; eight grandchildren: Mitchell McNab, Megan McNab, Olivia Stanley, Rachel Stanley, Ryan Briggs, Andrew Briggs, Emily Briggs, and Bralynn Beamesderfer.
