The Service of Remembrance for Mr. Emilio Calderon Jr., age 78, of Inverness, FL will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 10:00 a. m. at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes and Crematory the with the Revs. Bruce and Michelle Brunk officiating. Friends may call on the family at the funeral home from 9:00 - 10:00 a. m. on Friday. He was born July 30, 1931 in New York, NY, and was the son of the late Emilio and Eloise (Quinones) Calderon. He died November 20, 2009 in Inverness, FL.

Mr. Calderon was a U. S. Army veteran. He worked as a plumber for the City of New York. He moved to Inverness from New York City 19 years ago. He enjoyed playing poker and slot machines.

He loved fishing and reading. He was a member of the Christian Recovery Fellowship. He was also a member of the Spanish American Club of Citrus County of which he was a Past President.

Mr. Calderon was preceded in death by daughter, Arlene Calderon, father, Emilio Calderon Sr., mother, Eloise Calderon, wife, Frances Calderon. Survivors include son, Emil Calderon of Springfield, MA, son, Anthony Calderon of Inverness, FL, daughter, Deborah Ruiz-Moy of Queens Village, NY, sister, Ernestine Simonson of Inverness, FL, sister, Elaine Calderon of St. Petersburg, FL, brother, Einor Calderon of Inverness, FL, brother, Edward Calderon of Inverness, FL. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory.
