December 30, 1937 - March 27, 2021
Mrs. Barbara Ann Novinski, age 83, passed peacefully to our Lord on Saturday March 27, 2021 in Inverness, FL. Barbara was born December 30, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late William J. and Margaret Mary (Kissane) Ray. From humble and challenging beginnings Barbara emerged as a woman of great strength, with a profound faith in the Lord, never ending devotion to and love of family, and a wonderful sense of humor that touched everyone around her. She carried herself with grace, strength, and a smile. Barbara was so special that one name just would not suffice. She was known as Barbara, Rickey, Bobbie, Mumsey, or Nanny depending on your relationship. Barbara was loved by many and will be missed by all. While raising her family Barbara worked in the banking and insurance industry at Central Federal Savings and Loan, and Metropolitan Life, rising to supervisory roles. Barbara retired to Beverly Hills, FL and spent countless miles traveling the country to see the sights and visit family and friends. She had been an active member of an Uno Group and the Red Hat Society. She was a devout member of the Christian Science Church and spent much of her time studying and practicing her faith. Barbara also enjoyed going out with her friends for a meal, a show, or just a few laughs. Nanny genuinely enjoyed and loved her grandchildren, offering them her love, kindness, and support. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husbands, William J. Novinski, and William Platt Gray, sister, Patricia Dunn, brother, James Ray, and granddaughter Jamie Marie Schultz. She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Green (Steve Rose) of Bluffton, SC, Donna (Pete) Cordova of Franklin, MA, and Denise (Anthony) Schultz of Inverness, FL. Brother Peter Ray (Lois) of Levittown, NY. Grandchildren; Stephani Perriman (Ryan), Christopher Green (Kristen), Stephen Rose (Andi), Zachary Green, Peter Cordova Jr (Lexie), Anthony Schultz Jr, and Jack Cordova. Great Grandchildren; Mike Perriman (Jameria), Sarah Perriman, Chase Perriman, Charlie Perriman, and Shelby Young. The Family will be receiving friends at 1:00 PM and holding a Memorial service at 2:00 PM on April 5, 2021 at the Hooper Funeral Home in Beverly Hills, FL. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial donations to Vitas Hospice House, 3350 W. Audubon Park Path, Lecanto, FL 34461.
