Charles Marshall Hammon January 20, 1962 - May 31, 2022 Charles Hammon, known by those that loved him as “Charlie” or “Chuck,” passed in peace on May 31st surrounded by his loved ones in Ocala, FL. Preceded in death by his father, Jack Hammon; his mother, Sonja Anthony, and his brother, Darren Hammon. Charlie is survived by his wife, Kaye Saunders-Hammon; his sister, Suzanne Hammon of Davenport, FL, his three daughters, Samantha (Mike) Ochoa of Jupiter, FL , Michelle (Darla) Hammon of Leonardtown, MD, and Kimberly (Travis) of Billings, MT (or as he lovingly nicknamed them, Lamb, Elle, and Rim); his step-sons, Thomas J. Coon of Hernando, FL, Ryan S. Ruohonen of Hernando, FL, and Charles P. Ruohonen of Denmark, WI; his nephew, Matthew Collins; his grandchildren, Paisley and Brady; his 11 step-grandchildren, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins. Charlie was born to Jack and Sonya in Oahu, HI, and grew up in Kendale Lakes, FL with his siblings, Darren and Suzanne. After high school, Charlie joined the United States Navy where he traveled the world and upon his return settled down with Lori, his former wife, and welcomed his three beautiful daughters, whom he dotingly referred to as his “Charlie’s Angels.” Charlie worked for Hollywood’s Sylvester Stallone for many years in Miami, FL as his property manager, and friend. After the sale of Stallone’s Viscaya home, Charlie worked as an electrician and supervisor until the diagnosis of his End-Stage Renal Disease. In 2017, Charlie met his wife, Kaye, a retired registered nurse, whom added years to his life filled with love, joy, and hope. Together they enjoyed the outdoors and each other’s company. You could always find them on the golf course, fishing, or boating together. Charlie was an avid sportsman and the epitome of athleticism having excelled at “any sport with a ball.” If Charlie wasn’t on the golf course, you’d find him out on the water. He could beat anyone he challenged to an arm-wrestling match and loved all the greatest movies, such as Rocky, Terminator, Braveheart, and Alien. We cannot say that Charlie lost his battle in the end, because after all, Charlie didn’t lose at anything. Those that knew Charlie, loved him. He will be missed dearly, and greatly by all. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Hooper Funeral Home in Inverness, FL.
