Mr. Charles (Chuck) V. Richie Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

A Christian Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Charles (Chuck) V. Richie, Jr. will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Father Glenn Diaz will be the Celebrant. Charles passed peacefully on July 22, surrounded by his family at home. Chuck was born on May 3, 1937, in Monessen, PA and was the son of the late Charles V. and Stella (Mazur) Sr. He raised his family in Shelby Township, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Lamb Technicon after his 30-year career in Engineering. He spent over 20 years of retirement enjoying life in Homosassa, Florida with his wife, Carol. Charles was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Treasurer for 9 years. He was a longtime volunteer for The Boys Clubs of America and was a strong advocate of giving back to his community. He also served as a volunteer tax preparer for Seniors through AARP. His wife, Carol, was the love of his life and family was his world. Everyone that knew him enjoyed his company. He loved playing golf, spending time with family, working in the yard and serving his church and the community. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Warholik) Richie, his children Karen (Gary) Jbara, Lisa (Chris) Craffey, Craig (Tena) Richie, Lynn (Leo) Genovese and his brother, Ken (Dorothy) Richie. He is also survived and cherished by his 9 grandchildren, Lauren, Cory, Alec, Oscar, Olivia, Owen, William, Ella and Gavin. Donations may be made in the memory of Charles Richie to the North Florida Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 3505 E. Frontage Road, Concourse Center III, 146, Tampa, FL. 33607 or at www.lls.org. A celebration of life will be held in Michigan at a future date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Homosassa Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes and Crematory.
