Mr. David Levant White

October 8, 1942 - March 31, 2022

Mr. David Levant White of Inverness, FL, passed away on March 31, 2022 of natural causes. He was 79 years of age. David was born on October 8, 1942 to Pledger "Harry" and Bernice Ione Hill White in Inverness, FL, where he lived for his whole life. David graduated from Citrus High School in 1961. He retired from A&P after 23 years of managerial service and then Cone Distributing after 30 years. He spent his time with family, wood working, animal watching, and taking care of the farm. In 1985, David met Sherry through boarding horses at his farm, and they were married shortly after. David and Sherry built their lives between their homes in Inverness and Madison, FL. David was predeceased by his parents and sister Faye. He is survived by his wife, Sherry of 36 wonderful years; his youngest daughter; his eldest daughter Rhonda (Russell) Chambless; 2 granddaughters, Samantha (Anthony) Winner and Shelby Chambless; and his brother Marshall White. He also leaves behind 1 abundantly loved and cherished great-granddaughter, Saphira Winner (2yo). He was immensely proud of all his family and their achievements. David White was fierce, a loyal companion, and never met a stranger in his life. He supported the military, local business, and people in his community. David bonded with others over his life-long love for Florida Gator football. He and his wife enjoyed finding peace in nature. They were blessed with the love of God and a supportive church community. David was devoted to his loving family and had a helping heart and soul. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes on Friday April 8th. Visitation begins at 11am with services at 12pm. Casual and lively attire is encouraged.Favorite flowers were lavender and live plants. Flowers are welcome, but in lieu, the family requests donations be made to Gideons International, an organization providing access to God's word, which was important to David.
