Mrs. Emilie S. Sluyter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

The Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Emilie S. Sluyter, age 85 years, of Hernando, will be held 11:00 am Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of service at the chapel. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.HooperFuneralHome.com. Mrs. Sluyter was born March 28, 1937 in Miami, Florida to John Daniel and Emma Ethel Cooper Still. She spent her life in Florida and passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 in Inverness. Mrs. Sluyter was a secretary for Mueller Christian Academy; worked at the Citrus Chronicle and was co-owner of a BBQ restaurant with her first husband, Robert Brice. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and an avid animal lover and supporter. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Sluyter. Surviving are her son: Robert Ross Brice; a daughter: Becky (Robert) McIntire; 3 Grandsons: Michael Guy Artelli, Robert (Gloria) McIntire Jr., Joshua Buffenbarger; 3 Granddaughters: Emilie (Michael)Haynes, Sabrina Brice, Jennifer (Joshua) Bloom; Great Grandchildren: Abigail Buffenbarger, Alyssa Bache, Jason Vega, Sean Vega, Ariel Artelli, Sophia Vega, Liam Artelli, Gabriel Bloom, Luna McIntire, a sister: Betty Lou Olmen; and 2 nieces: Pam (Roger) Darnell; and Cheryl (Gary) Anderson. Arrangements under the direction of the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA in her name.
