Mrs. Emma Allen

September 16, 1939 - August 31, 2018

Emma Louise Norris Duca Allen was born in Paterson, NJ, September 16, 1939 and died August 31, 2018. She moved to Florida in 1971 from FairLawn, NJ. She was a member of the Women of the Moose for many years. Emma enjoyed a change in her jobs so some of her many jobs were cocktail lounge manager, Supervisor for AC Nielson, the TV ratings company, and a Floral arranger. She also decorated Eastern Airlines Terminal for Christmas and was a Party Plan owner for decorative items of which her husband Gordon made. Finally they started their own Construction Remodeling Gorem, Inc. They did work for Circle K, Eckerd's, Penrod's, Darrell's TGIF and others. This is the job she retired from and the took her trip of a lifetime. Emma and Gordon bought a new motor home and went on a rally with the club members and were gone for over two months touring all the western states and up to Calgary, Alberta Canada for the stampede. They then proceeded through Washington, Oregon, Utah, Las Vegas, Northern California, Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana and then home. Her main hobby was sewing and she made her own clothes. She also enjoyed reading, computer researching, card games, Biloxi and cruising. Emma is survived by her husband and caregiver, Gordon Allen of Homosassa, FL, sister Ada and brother-in-law Pat of NJ, children Micheal Duca and Jennifer of Lecanto, FL, Kathy Phillips of Dunnellon, FL, and James Duca of Hernando, FL. She is also survived by stepchildren Glenn Allen and Diane of Howey-in-the-Hills, FL, and Lisa Shepherd and Bill of Orlando, FL as well as grandchildren, Micheal Duca of Oviedo, FL, Thomas Duca USN of Chula Vista, CA, Alexis Duca of Hernando, FL, Jennifer Shepherd of Nashville, TN, Jason Shepherd of Orlando, FL, Glenn Allen Jr. of Tavares, FL, Wayne Byers of Debary, FL, Greg Byers and Jennifer Byers, and great grandchildren, Brayden and Logan Duca of Oviedo, FL, Sophia and Olivia Duca of Crystal River, FL, Emily Allen, Joshua and Leeanna Byers of Debary, FL and Alyssa, Micheal and Jason Byers of Altamonte Springs, FL, and her beloved Maggie.
